When you arrive at the Montagu Arms, you and your VIP (Very Important Pooch) will know straight away that this is more than just a dog-friendly hotel, that here is a home from home with a team that genuinely love dogs.
There’s everything they could possibly need for a dream holiday; welcome treats, a cosy bed of their own, forest walks on the doorstep – with endless sniffing opportunities and countless muddy puddles to splash in.
Our country pub, Monty’s Inn, truly hopes the ‘A La Bark’ dog menu will be up to scratch, and the dog-friendly ice-cream to their liking, whilst pats and cuddles will be on tap to any furry friend who wants them.
At the Montau Arms, we don’t just allow dogs, we expect them to be there, especially in the run-up to the biggest event of the year – Dogstival!
It’s a scenic drive of less than 30 minutes from our Beaulieu hotel to reach Burley Park, home to Dogstival. A wonderful dog-friendly festival that doesn’t just include dogs but that’s for dogs; agility courses, fun new activities like ‘Have-a-go scent work’, a dog beach, plenty of toys and treat stalls, photo opportunities and of course, lots of dog friends to say hi to, plus food and entertainment to keep you humans happy too.
Picture this! A misty morning walk before breakfast over ancient heathland and forest trail; fun gravel paths and all the sniffs they could possibly imagine! New Forest ponies, donkeys, flora and fauna… miles of space for them to run free and live their best life. We even have the coast just a short drive away if a day at the beach is part of the deal.
In the evening, when it’s time to relax and feel pampered after a day of exploring, playing, and socialising at Dogstival, content and tired, it’s time to lie-down and snooze into the night.
They’ll stretch out and feel relaxed and happy in your dog-friendly room, whilst you, the humans, can get ready to go out for dinner, perhaps The Terrace, because you deserve it, you’ve been really good today. Plus, there are puppy-dreams of forests and festivals to be had, and you’ll only get in the way.

2. About the competition & general terms
- The competition is open only to UK residents aged 18 or over.

- To enter you MUST follow Dogstival and The Montagu Arms Hotel, comment the name/ names of who you nominate. The Nominated person will receive the prize NOT the nominee. Extra entry for sharing the post.

- The competition is open from 3pm Tues 17th Bed and closes at 3pm on Tues 3rd March.
The Prize
- Prize will be to WIN a 1-night stay for 2 people bed and breakfast at The Montagu Arms Hotel. (Max 2 dogs per stay) AND a doggie afternoon tea.
- The prize for the hotel stay will be issued in the form of a voucher valid for 12 months and can be redeemed for any dates excluding Valentine’s Day, Easter, Christmas, and New Year. Stay is subject to room availability.
- AND 2-day tickets to Dogstival on the 30th and 31st May at Burley Park. The e-tickets will be issued by email.
3. Selection and notification of the winner
A winner will be selected at random by The Montagu Arms after the closing date stated and the winner will be contacted to arrange the details of this prize via DM.
The decision of the Promoter is final, and no discussion will be entered into. By entering you acknowledge and agree that you may be required to be used in publicity if you are selected as a winner.

Personal data provided by entrants will be used solely in accordance with current UK data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party without the individual’s consent when submitting their competition entry.
